Parents...

As much as I love my mom, I sometimes really hate talking to her. Maybe it's because we're too much alike... maybe we're too different. I don't know which one.

I think most of the time, she just thinks that I'm screwed in the head or something. I never believed the whole thing about when somebody is older or their status (as in 輩份) is higher than you, they automatically deserve your respect. That's a load of bull, imo.

She believes that parents should be able to command their children without valid explanation and their children should obey the command even if it doesn't make sense or if it wasn't explained to them simply because of the issue of 孝順.

To be honest, that's ridiculous.

Just because these adults became a parent doesn't automatically mean they're right with everything. Things should be up for discussion. Communication is important in all kinds of relationships and it must be 2-way.

I don't think she'll ever understand that children are human beings, they have a brain unless there's some kind of a physical or a mental defect. If she wants someone who would blindly obey and not ask questions, she should get a robot.
